About Dave and Cody Day
Dave Day is the President and Founder of Grower’s First, a Christian Missionary
organization that serves the poor farming communities around the world
(www.growersfirst.org). His 9-year-old son Cody, was diagnosed with a brain tumor
two years ago. He has had surgery and chemo and spent much of the last two years
in CHOC Hospital for Children in Southern California. Cody is in full remission and
doing well now. Cody’s dad, Dave Day, used the promise of building a Jeep together
for a Rubicon Trail trip as an incentive to motivate Cody. Cody is now in full remission
which led Dave to buy a $400 1997 Jeep Wrangler that needed some help.
Dave turned to Ron Flint, President of Motive Club, for some help and advice on the
Jeep. Ron pulled together some sponsors and thanks to ARB, Jeeps R Us and a host
of others (list available upon request), the Jeep will be ready for it’s expedition to
Mexico during Easter in 2008. Motive Club’s website will cover the Father-Son story
from start to finish; from a toy drive for CHOC Hospital for Kids in January, to Cody
driving and delivering wheelchairs in Mexico over Easter Week and then to the
Rubicon in July to tackle the most infamous Jeep-trail in the world.
