Aston Martin has unveiled the most eagerly anticipated urber-luxo sports car of the year—the new DBS. “The DBS is the ultimate expression of Aston Martin’s engineering and technical ability. It offers pure performance without compromise. The DBS delivers the complete driving experience and bridges the gap between our road and track cars the DB9 and DBR9,” Aston Martin Chief Executive Officer, Dr Ulrich Bez, told Motive Club. Touted as being equally at home on a twisting mountain road as on a wide-open expanse, the DBS is a true thoroughbred in the long and illustrious Aston Martin tradition. The Aston Martin DBS is a 6.0-litre V12 powered, race-bred, two-seater shaped by the aerodynamic demands of high performance. It features an exquisite interior that marries beautifully hand-finished materials with the very latest in performance technology in a car that will cost you more than a fleet of Corvettes. The precise combination of styling, innovative manufacturing, race-derived materials and components, and Aston Martin’s extensive hand-build expertise makes the DBS a luxury sports car with few equals. It delivers a seductive blend of refinement and raw power, the latter provided by a hand-built V12 producing 510 horsepower with a tested top speed of 191mph. Launching from 0-62mph was achieved at a consistent 4.3 seconds. Like all Aston Martins, assembly of the new DBS is done at Aston Martin’s global headquarters at Gaydon, England, alongside the DB9, Vantage Coupe and Vantage Roadster. The first United States deliveries of the DBS are expected in early 2008, with prices to be confirmed at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
